The voice of tyranny says, “do what I say, not what I do!” “You must obey without question or there will be consequences”. Bondage and fear are two of the qualities that the face of tyranny uses to keep us under their control. The cry for freedom must be the sound of patriots who would deliver us from both in the natural and spiritual sense. God has had his men and women in every generation who are willing to stand in the face of tyranny to press into the destiny of people and nations. The Bible is full of these types who delivered Israel and the church from the bondages of control and oppression. For the last 400 years, there have been spiritual forces that have been forcing the global church and nations into the bonds of oppression by those who would control everything in our lives. Instead of releasing us into the full potential of who we should be, there has been a spirit of control that would tell us how we should live and worship. However, I believe this is all about to change; 2021 will be a year of tremendous liberation on every level. Are you ready? It takes courage to stand for the truth, to throw off the chains of bondage and fly free like a bird, free from its cage. God has used ordinary people to change history. The beauty of truth is that it sets you free. William Wallace was made famous by Mel Gibson’s portrayal of the Scottish liberator that inspired “Robert the Bruce” to take hold of his rightful place as the King of Scotland and throw off the tyranny of England. The problem with throwing off tyranny is that it usually costs someone their lives. Wallace died by the leaders of the church “disciplining” him for treason against the crown. His last word was the cry for “Freedom”. Abraham Lincoln also paid the price of freedom by the laying down of his life from an assassin’s bullet. His life was taken from him but he willingly laid it down for the Union. He believed in the destiny of this nation. Abraham, Moses, Daniel, Joseph, Peter, Paul all paid the price for the coming kingdom of God. Perhaps the greatest example was Jesus who willingly laid down His life so that you and I could walk in freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17 says this;

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Are you willing to pay the price to walk in freedom? It will cost you something. Are you willing to lay down your life so that others may walk in freedom? Do what the Spirit of God is leading you to do and don’t look back. Let’s not fail those who have gone before us by giving in to the voice of tyranny; Hebrews 11:39-40.

“9 And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.”
