The title of this blog is taken from Isaiah 43. 16-19
Thus says the Lord,
who makes a way in the sea,
a path in the mighty waters,
17 who brings forth chariot and horse,
army and warrior;
they lie down, they cannot rise,
they are extinguished, quenched like a wick:
18 “Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43 is a significant chapter in the Old Testament, focusing on themes of God's redemption, protection, and the promise of new things for His people. It offers comfort through divine assurances, challenges idolatry, and while rebuking Israel’s unfaithfulness, promises free forgiveness.
There is a sense that 2026 is going to be an unprecedented year in restoring the hopes of the people of God in both our nation and around the world. We are already seeing significant signs of Spiritual awakening in many of our American universities. I am sure the assassination of Charlie Kirk last year was a major incident that sparked revival on many campuses. The word of God holds true once again even as it did in the crucifixion of the LORD Jesus. We read in John 12:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
The death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus is a guarantee that every “New Thing” ordained by God will be fulfilled.
"Unless a seed falls to the ground and dies" means that for true growth, new life, or spiritual fruit to emerge, one must undergo a form of "death"—letting go of the old self, selfish desires, or worldly life to find eternal life or produce something greater, just as a single wheat kernel must die to sprout many more. Jesus used it to explain his own impending sacrifice and to call followers to self-sacrifice and spiritual transformation.
As we look forward to the new, it is important that we be willing to let go of the old. This new year is a fresh start. You are not walking into this new year by yourself; Jesus is right there with you. You don’t have to carry last year into the new year, Let go of what weighed you down and distracted your heart. Jesus is doing something new for you in 2026. Because of that, we must stay close to Him so we will perceive what he is doing and are not weighed down by the worries of life. Take this new year one day at a time and trust that Jesus is walking ahead of you in 2026. He has already been where we are going because He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
This year doesn’t need for you to be perfect. In just needs you to trust Jesus with all of your heart as Proverbs 3:5-6 says.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
You don’t have to rely on your own strength or confidence, lean on Jesus and He will steady you, remind you that you are His child, His son or daughter. He will help you keep moving forward even on hard days
Happy New Year!! He has begun a “new thing”. The best is yet to come because He has declared it.
