This verse in Isaiah 55:6-11 always amazes me.
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
What Isaiah is saying is that God and so far above human reasoning in human understanding that it would be impossible for us to comprehend him with our humaneness. Thus, to understand him. we must always come into the place of our spirit and engage with Holy Spirit who lives on the inside of all of those who had been born again.
From the place of the spirit, we come to understand the vastness of God's wisdom and possibilities even as Enoch did. As Gabriel told Mary, “with God all things are possible”! Even though things may seem impossible.
Why then in so many of our worship settings, do we try to humanize God? Why do we always try to bring him down to our level of understanding and humaneness when he is so far above all that we could possibly think in our human mind.
The invitation of Isaiah is to seek him well he may be found and call upon him while he is near. In other words, God himself invites us to participate in his limitlessness. Can you comprehend the possibilities of that? God himself who is full of mysteries invites us to participate in things that are far beyond human knowledge in understanding. The doctor may say that the prognosis is not good. God says that the impossible is always possible with him. I think the only reason that some people pass on is because God wants them in his limitless presence to experience the all possible mysteries of himself.
Secondly, God does not need you and I necessarily to fulfill his word. His word as the power within itself to complete all that it is sent out to accomplish. It is as faithful as the rain and the snow which water the earth and bring forth its fruit. According to the New Testament in the parable of the sower, all God needs our fertile hearts fertilized with faith that God will accomplish all that he said he would accomplish. All He needs ia a “Yes”!
I know many are concerned with the midterm elections coming up next week. I was listening to a prophecy from Kim Clement concerning our nation and our current president. When you realize the words given to Kim concerning our nation, you realize that not everything that God has spoken over our nation has been fulfilled yet. No matter what happens next week we must believe it is all part of God's plan to bring forth his restoration to our nation. There are just too many people standing in the gap with faith believing God will do what he said he will do.
When you realize the finality of God's spoken word, it gives us great hope. Not in the accomplishments of man but in the faithfulness of God in his word. So be encouraged my brother and sister. God has not left us forsaken. His word is accomplishing what he promised our forefathers and those who in prophesied over our nation years ago.
This fact should fill us with great hope because our hope is in the Lord. God promised Moses in Numbers 23:19
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
God will fulfill what he said he would do. What guarantees it is that he's above being human. He is supernaturally God who sits upon the throne and when he speaks his word, It is final! No discussion, no debate. It is done!
Let these truths encourage you today both in your personal life and also the life of your family and of our nation. God will do what he said he will do! God bless!
