I want to thank all of you for praying for me over the last couple of weeks especially. Two weeks ago tonight, I had a bad fall while trying to avoid getting hit by a car while crossing the road in front of our apartment in a designated cross walk. I was walking our little dog Shiloh and was 3/4 of the way through the walking area when I realized the car was not going to stop. I face-planted on the sidewalk and honestly don't remember too much after that. I’m grateful that we live in a wonderful community with lots of good Samaritans who came to my aid. The next thing I knew, I was in the back of an ambulance with my head wrapped in a bandage and on my way to Shock Trauma in Hagerstown. After spending 2 1/2 days in hospital, I was released to come home to continue to my convalescence.
I believe it's because of the prayers and concern of so many that I have healed very quickly over the last two weeks. The last injury that is giving me any trouble is my left hand where my little finger was dislocated back at the wrist. However today, I was able to play my guitar and although things were stiff, I had no real pain as I practiced. Thank you Jesus because I was concerned that I was going to have long term issues playing guitar and leading worship.
God has been so good to me in this healing process. I'm thankful to all of you who have messaged me and Cheryl and prayed for me in this process. God has been good and I'm looking forward to getting back in the saddle tomorrow. I'm very grateful for Sam and Ana Nunez and the rest of the Cornerstone’s leadership who so quickly took over my responsibilities making sure things flowed smoothly. Thankful also to Major Eric Kaltrider (USMC ret) who ministered effectively on my behalf. I'm especially grateful to my wife and my daughter, Ashley who have taken good care of me in my recovery. Despite this mishap, I am confident that I am hidden under the shadow of the wings of the almighty and then protected in His care.
All of my wounds are superficial. it could have been so much worse. God has so much more for me to do and I so appreciate all your love in support in this journey. May the Lord bless you all!!
